Hhhhmmmm, nice.

Noticed the center cd player and air/heat setup is the same as in my F150.
The vents too. Love those vents, very retro and easy to open/close and direct the air.

Ridiculous ride is well said. A Nash Metro had a huge turning circle even with factory tires, owing to the skirts over the front wheels. This is really crazy and maybe cool on the strip as an exhibition car, is essentially undriveable. Even old Anglias with blown hemi's made more sense, you could actually turn the front wheels (and had to, as the altereds got so out of shape that a trip down the strip was an exercise in lock-to-lock spins of the steering wheel). Additionally, the Metro had NO wheelbase to speak of, so it likewise has no directional stability or provision for weight transfer (do they mount a wheelie-bar during runs?)

Metro's are cute though!

I watched the Automaniac episode that featured this car and yes it definitly uses wheelie-bars. The owner said without them it would flip-over on its back. Goldberg took it for a ride and it looked very unstable when he gave it the juice. Looked like it wanted to roll over on its side. I think i remember the owner saying he built it because no one else had yet. Good enough reason for me, plus looking at it just makes me laugh. . . so therfore it has a purpose.

Hmmmmm.......

I don't know why, but I feel something...very difficult to describe.

Almost like a disturbance in the force...but not in a bad way though, instead, somehow, good. VERY good. Yet, verrry BAAaaaddd.....naughty kinda bad!

(sniff sniff).....my piggy nostrils are pickin' up a strange yet familiar whiff too......faint, but from the West.......dang I just can't put my tusk on it......pigskin of some kind? No....melted rubber???

There's that chill down my spine again!......I cannot describe it exactly - just a feeling that recently, something changed, and all became right with the world. Yet, something dark and sinister is, in some way, possibly involved, prowling, lurking. Real strange! I put my tinfoil hat back on and the feeling is still there.....

Ever get that feeling?

This one aint' mine (don't have pics yet), but is identical to mine except I have the light tan/parchment leather interior. Wheels are the same. Hurst shifter is on order... Laughing

Took my wife out in it last night after dinner to demostrate the concept of "muscle car"...She Likey! (except maybe for that bit coming up/around the Mission Bay off ramp in 2nd at a continual 4,800 rpm and about .8G!) Twisted Evil

OOooo!!!! Great idea - show her how it's driven right, before going on your trip, heh heh!!!! Heck you might need new rear tires by the time you get back, but she'll love ya for it!!

Oh! You mean the rolling lozenge known as a "Taurus"! I am so sorry!

I guess selling the Coo-gar is right out of the question..... Laughing


Stoopy...I only have two mods planned:
1. Hurst shifter
2. Pull that chrome 'Stang off the grill and have it powdercoated black. It looks a lot better with nothing there, but the grill is molded for the mustang so I've just gotta' camoflage it....maybe it'll look like an '80's Aston Martin Vantage or something.

If I'd ordered the car, I'd have gone for the "delete spoiler" option, but I bought "off the rack", as it were. I gather I'm supposed to have the programmable color thingy for the gauges, but haven't got that far yet.
I was averaging 19.6 mpg on my first tank before I took the wife out for a "spin" (so to speak) last night. That's about 3-4 mpg better than my Jeep Grand Cherokee got, when it was running.

I've established that the 'lil chrome pony is plastic, chromed. That means no powdercoating, but you can just get you one, rough it up, and paint as usual and replace in the recess for it. It will still be there, but all but invisible at a glance.
