Back to Haiti - well, yes, we already passed over there, but didn't stop, and the "landscape" was so appealing that maybe another trip is not a bad idea. This time we've also a further means of attraction, as we sport the brand new - waxed and polished - Com-Central DC-6B... hey, outstanding job you there at the Development Department Cool

The package including flight plan, bigger map and text file with navigation data can be downloaded here:
-> 216.176.86.154/marco/f...CC_024.zip

A word for the ATC: Fled, I know this "right angles" approach is not the best solution, but I needed to keep the flight within a reasonable duration - I swear next time I'll try to ease your job too Wink

Another word for the ATC: Fled, I switched to the U.S. system, so no more misunderstandings... and I even spared the time to convert the nav-log! Mr. Green

I probably won't make the flight today also.

The DC6 is a nice plane to fly but the eye candy of the repaints detracts from the overall enjoyment.

I only have a Ti4200 graphics card and haven't read enough about DXTBmp yet to correct the problem.

Lol, Fled, me too in one piece is a memorable event, well worth this wonderful DC-6 - I hope you also noted I didn't step onto the grass: less extra-work for the gardener Wink

Kit...I am working on a texture set which is DXT1 without the alpha channels, I will send them to you to try out for me. If this works like I think it will then we will offer 2 versions of all the aircraft from now on. I appologize for any inconvenience the multi-layer textures have caused anyone and we will do our best to rectify this ASAP.

Great job on that DC6 plane fellas...looks and flys great!

Sure hated to miss that flight too..but it wasn't something I had control over. Should be there for the next one ...and great pics Fled!!

I hope no-one took my comment about texture files the wrong way...

Hitman, Fled, Marco and MD do outstanding work for the Sunday flights ( have I forgot anyone?)

With aircraft textures being a bit blurry for me, it detracts from the realism and enjoyment.

Kit,

No offence was taken by anyone of us here with your comment about the blurry textures, on the contrary we are working on it to get some textures that will suit your vidcard and also loads of other people that have not got the latest rocket vidcard as some of us may have.

the adapted textures will be available very soon for all to enjoy the DC-6 with all it's lil quircks and tricks Laughing

Heh Kit,

My vid card is as old as the hills! Laughing I liked the DC-6 cockpit though, and actually did most of the flight on Sunday from the flight engineers station, playing with the ADF and radios!

I looked at the plane on the original download site - www.calclassic.com There are some nice paint jobs there - in fact I picked up one from Pan Am for the DC-6, and got an absolutely sharp rendering in FS9 Cool You might want to try some of the alternative textures as flying this plane is an opportunity (for me anyway) too good to miss!!
