The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. I was taking a look at next year calendar since I am considering to attend Tankfest. Then I realized there is "Tiger Day" in late April too... Ideally I would love to attend both, but most likely I have to pick one. Now I am torn... Massimo

On the picture of the Warrior, you can see a strip of metal bolted along the join of the glacis plate and the front armour. I remember hearing a story that that had been put there to protect the weld from being penetrated by lucky bullet/machine gun fire. Does anyone know if there is any truth in that?

Last time I visited Bovington I stayed at a B&B in Wool, the place was nice but Wool is really in the middle of nowhere and even going out for dinner was problematic. This time I am thinking about an accommodation in another town, a place along the London-Weymouth railway from where I could reach Wool by train. Any suggestion? Massimo
