Navy Base Kiel
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Yesterday I was at the Navy base in Kiel
were the Flak anti aircraft collection is located
The highlight for me was the Wirbelwind.

This is at an Army Barracks
Adress is Klausdorfer Weg 2-24
24148 Kiel
Visit only with appointment email is Fla-Ausstellung @ web.de
They have everything Flak related from Wehrmacht - NVA and Bundeswehr.

Great pictures! Didn't the Kugelblitz turret used to be at the RMCS Shrivenham in the UK? Does anyone know how it was supposed to work? Was it a one-man turret or controlled in some other way?

wow, interesting article but that turret does not look a fun place to be! Mind you even the modern Gepard turret was very cramped as well.

According to the info plate it is here on loan from Koblenz
Actualy most of the collection is on loan from Koblenz and Dresden
