Easter time: it doesn't matter if you celebrate it or not, I bet you'll find amusing this proposal of joining us to dig out chocolate eggs in Philippines. As he knows the premises already, Wingnut might be our "Cicerone", eh?

Given the lenght of the flight, we'll have to dust off an old knowledge of ours, the FSDezign Super Constellation: if you don't have it in your hangar yet, find it in our download section Mr. Green

Cool Marco, I have your old storage addy saved so I get all the flights early. That's how I knew where we were going this week. I've had the flight plan since you put it up.

Laughing After Mt. Pinetubo blew it't top a few years ago, the Philippine government was lucky to find anything still standing after we pulled out. I've seen a website that shows the old Officers, and NCO clubs are still standing. They cleaned the base up real good. Unfortunately, it's not in as nice a condition that I remember. I left there in 1975. The Airforce left it completely to the PI government. It's now a civillian International airport. I remember the area, but I think it has changed a lot since I was there. Not as many bars, or girls as there used to be. If the O-club is still operating in a food and drink capacity, the first round is on me. I might even spring for my favorite dish, surf & turf, a steak and lobster dinner. That is if they still have it. If not, dinner is still on me in what ever local dish you like that they serve. Philippine food in the restaurants isn't bad if you know what you are ordering. Fortunately, I still remember enough of the language, Tagalog, to not steer you wrong. I was in the PI for 4 years, and was married to a Philippine girl. I learned to speak Tagalog and one other dialect fluently, and could speak parts of several other dialects as well. We will fly passed both of the other bases that I was stationed at there as well. The first was a remote radar station on the western coast near San Fernando, in the provence of La Union. It was on the western coast in the northern 1/3rd of the island of Luzon, and the other was about 30 miles north of Clark, in the the province of Tarlac. It was right next to the location of the former POW camp that housed the survivors of the famous Bataan death march from WW2. I will definately hire a Jeepney and give you all a guided tour of the area. We might even get a Helo and fly up to San Fernando and swim in the beautiful white sand beaches and clear blue water of that area. There is a nice resort hotel up there that I still remember. Who knows, Maybe hire a banca boat and do some diving on one of the local coral reefs that I loved to dive on. Boy, you guys are learning a lot about me, aren't you. Surprised Laughing

Leo,
I never check the runways while planning flights: after all, I have very little chances to land on them, so that I can do the less, in the end Mr. Green
Wink
But you're right, I just amended - and, by the way, please notice the heading of the two ILS': they're not aligned Shocked

Yep. I lived in country for 4 years. I think I have a few left. Sweets as a bunny sounds interesting. It gives new meaning to Easter. Wish she could join us too. Now I wonder how old the kiddies she's being a bunny for are?
