Roy this seems to be a "walks like a duck" vehicle. The Army seems to be insisting that this is not an anti-tank weapon.

Roy, is he holding that rifle to shoot, or just to spot? The rifle looks like it has an extendable butt-stock that is not extended, nor is it being held to the shoulder if it is intended to be shot. ...

I would suspect that the commander wished to have the ability to maneuver if threatened by AT weapons. There is no guarantee that using MGs would get all the bad guys without some reaching cover and ...

I have a recollection that the 106 mm guns on the Ontos had a canister round, if so were they ever used in defense positions in Vietnam?
