Post subject: One week rest...

... for mid August, but it's an excuse.

I'm just taking time, because I'm about to buy a new puter, at last. I'm only waiting for the rebates that usually come after August 15th: I already spotted the model, so it's just a matter to get it at a lower price.

Recently performances on my rig decayed dramatically, expecially because I'm having troubles with the video-card (I guess one of the many XP updates go conflicting with the ATI video drivers). My motherboard has no PCI-Express slots, and so, at this point, there's no more convenience trying to upgrade my present machine.

Even though I don't manage to put my hands on it in time, you'll get the next flight anyway. Case yes, instead, I'll do my best to join you after months of self-retirement.
Smile

That's great you're getting a new puter Marco! We've been missing you on the flights.. Wink

No problem on taking some time off and well deserved I might add!! (This will give me time to go through all the others planes and get back my coffee mug, maps and 'gas borrowing device'... )

In case I interpreted Marco's message correctly that there is no flight for today, I offer a littler B-17G-Special:

Taking the B-17 for a flight in the UK from Bentwaters to Woodbridge, including a link for the free sceneries of the two bases and a flightplan. It was just an idea, the flightplan will follow soon...

Here's the link from flightsim.com for the two beautifully made bases:
www.flightsim.com/kdl....fid=137570

In case I was wrong, disregard my message....

Edit: Flightplan is attached...

alas by the time I get home you guys probably have finished the flight Sad

Marco,

Good to hear you are on your way back into things, as for Videocards, make sure you get a Nvidia, ATI gives to many problems with fsX.

p.s. the hotel is stil open and awaiting your arrival Wink

Hi Wolter,

yes, the rig I'm about to buy has an Nvidia inside, still undecided between two GeForce models, GT 320 1 Gb or GT 230 1,5 Gb, but substance is that I'm eventually switching to Pci-Express, which is what I do care most.

The old ATI gives troubles, I believe because there are no updated drivers since years - I guess since ATI has been acquired by AMD - and after all is an AGP card.

One day, when you'll have lost all your hopes, I'll come knocking at your door.
Wink
