Post subject: Douglas A26 Nav Gauges - Help ?

Hi everyone:

I downloaded the Douglas A26 and what a super plane. The problem I'm having is I can't figure out the ADF nav equipment proerly and can't see m to dial in any NDB's.

I select the ADF on the radio panel and wind the little lever around until I think I have the frequency dialed in but it is very hard to get the exact frequency. Any tips/tricks to this ?

Also, on the main panel, next to the yellow ADF pointer gauge, there looks like a Nav gauge with two pointers in it. Are these for ADF's also - ADF1 and ADF2 ?

Is there a manual with this airplane ?

Many thanks...JB

HIya JB!

I can't seem to remember the A26 well enough to help you. I'll see if I can start up FS9 and load the plane and jog some memory cells. In the meantime, does anyone else remember how to NAV the A26?

Hi JB,

I had a quick moment to fly the A26 in FS9 and it's coming back to me now. For the ADF setting, the main ADF dial is used to set the main 'range' while the turn crank can be used by the dial wheel on your mouse to 'fine tune' the setting within the range. I remember this plane as being a bit cantankerous while flying and it takes a bit of getting used to. For instance, using the AP. When bringing up the GPS (Shift + 3), the AP comes up with it. Setting it to follow NAV (following GPS) doesn't work for me and I had to use the nav heading and adjust my flight path that way. Overall, the outside appearance of this plane is quite nice as is the 2d panel, but the 3d panel needs work IMO. (I suppose I'm getting spoiled by FSX...lol )
