Photos from the Chinese Military Museum in Beijing 11/07
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

While in Beijing in Nov 2007, I visited the China People's Revolution Military Museum.

Here are a few photos from my visit.

Unfortunately, the outdoor display areas were closed so I had to view and photograph through the windows. The area to the right of the main hall displayed captured AFVs and artillery while the display area to the left contained aircraft.

Enjoy!

Where did the Chinese capture these US vehicles?

@vonForhud; I think during the Korean war, although in these times museums in China also get Western equipment for their collection(s) (The Datang Shan museum for example has an Italian F-104)

@Vagabond; nice pictures!, You have more?

Regards,
Lesley

Cheers!

I like the uniform display. It resembles what I'd imagine a Salvatore Ferragamo New Spring Collection would look like. The helmets could be little more imaginative...and I don't recall U.S. shirts looking much like that. Very svelte crew, though!
