Plane Specs. - 32 lbs dry weight, 84" wing span, 74" long, full sicronized retractable landing gear\doors (as real airplane), all running\landing lights (can be turned on\off in flight), full cockpit and details, flaps, open\close cockpit canopy, fully scaled and sized pilot held in place with a five point harness and he's hooked up to the oxygen regulator, bomb\tank drops, 7 hp gas\oil Brisson engine A 6900 rpm, self designed in line drive shaft, approx in flight level speed of 80 plus mph, and expensive automotive paint. This plane is a copy of a full size existing Mustang out of Pennsylvania and has all the same outlines, panels, hatches, rivits etc. This project took about six years to build and cost way to much. I built this so I can go compete in Nationals scale compitition in August of "05".

Hope You Like It!

Im his son and well he is computer illiterate and will be on it as soon as I can get a moment to shrink it. Not any pictures yet in air, have video but it has only flown a twice. To much rain this year for him to get it out early in the year and then problems late in the summer so it made it hard. Will try to post some come this summer. He will be taking this plane to Nationals in Muncie, Indiana this summer to compete as well.

She's a BEAUT SkyPilot! It's said the devil is in the details. I'll bet you can testify to that, eh Sky. Best of luck to you at the 05 Nats! Treat her good.

The P-51 Mustang has two flights on it so far (forgot the camera that day). Hopefully when I get it airborne come late spring this year I'll get some decent pictures at that time. I can say that it flew just about as perfect as one could hope right from the start. Just had some minor engine (manufacture's fault) problems, I think I have that fixed now.

Thanks all for the comments, glad you like it.

As always you did a surperb job. Makes my plane look out of place. Some day I want to get into flying scale models. Will be awhile since I am still learning to fly lol.

Well I have about a dozen flights on this P-51 as of the end of the 2005 season. In the air it flies great on the ground, let's just say it make me work! Durring the winter I re-designed the drive shaft from the engine to the prop for a more positive delivery of power. It seems to work fine and the engine runs a steady 6,700-6,800 rpm on the ground with no power loss. Now just to fly it this year.

Very nice looking pony, your son might want a camcorder (flight recorder?) for his b-day hehe. Smile
