F-bombs get New York man booted off plane
By Joe Myxter, travel editor

A New York man said he might sue Atlantic Southeast Airlines after being kicked off a flight for being disruptive, according to a report in the Detroit News.

A flight attendant reportedly overheard Robert Sayegh asking a fellow passenger, "What's taking so (expletive) long to close the overhead compartments?"

The 37-year-old and other passengers had been waiting at Detroit Metro Airport for 45 minutes, he said.

Flight 5136 left the gate but returned soon after. Airport police boarded the plane and removed Sayegh.

"I'm like, 'Are they throwing me off the plane?' " Sayegh told the Detroit News. "This is the most ridiculous thing I've ever been through in my life. It's embarrassing."

"It wasn't like I stood up like a crazy maniac and was screaming, 'Move the plane!,' " he said.

Sayegh said he dropped two F-bombs and told the newspaper that he grew up in Brooklyn, where "we curse as adjectives."

Atlantic Southeast Airlines is a connection carrier for Delta Air Lines and adheres to Delta's contract of carriage. According to the contract, the carrier has the right to refuse carriage or remove passengers who display disorderly conduct or who appear to be intoxicated.

The Newark, N.J.-bound Sayegh was on a layover from Kansas City, where he attended a wedding on Saturday. He said he was hung over but not drunk.

LMAO...wasn't me I swear, my flight home from Dallas last week was uneventful and I even gave up my nice window seat (with noone in the middle seat next to me, for a change!) to swap seats with an overweight lady who was sitting in a bulkhead row at the front of Coach, who couldn't get her airbag-equipped seat belt* to buckle around her voluptuously large....waist. Shocked

Throwing New Yorkers off the plane for any reason whatsoever, even just on general principle, is sound operating policy in my opinion. Specially if they're Yankees fans!!!!! Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Twisted Evil

Mr. Green

* Strange but true...there's this stupid little mini-airbag built into the seatbelt itself now in the bulkhead-row seats. Side effect is that the seatbelt is not as long, I guess to save money on building the thing. Personally I think if something happens in an aeroplane that we need airbags, then there are bigger problems afoot to deal with....

Is it just me, or does Stoopy seem to be away a lot these days? The flier's origins are not mentioned in the story, so I'm just sayin'....

This sort of thing didn't seem to happen so much back when the "Boss Hawg" had pressing command duties... Wink

Drunk passenger urinates in airplane aisle
By Joe Myxter, travel editor

Seatmates who talk incessantly or screaming babies may not seem so bad after what one passenger reportedly did on a New Zealand-to-Singapore flight on Monday.

An intoxicated man reportedly urinated in the aisle of a Jetstar Airways plane, according to a story in the New Zealand Herald.

"I hear this sound of running water and then I hear a guy going, 'No, no, no, what the hell is wrong with you?' " passenger Amos Chapple told the newspaper.

The man urinated on a man's leg, a woman's scarf and the carpet.

The man and his friend were seen drinking whiskey before take-off, Chapple said. "Him and the mate were sitting there and mixing it in Burger King cups. Six hours later they were catatonic."

The plane's captain issued an official warning, the paper reported, and the man's alcohol was taken away, but the airline didn't call police.

Jetstar, a low-cost airline serving Australia, New Zealand and Asia, confirmed that "there was an inebriated passenger who engaged in inappropriate and disruptive behavior," the Herald reported.

And the fellow passengers who had to deal with the aftermath? Jetstar is contact the fliers, who will likely get an apology and a $200 voucher.
