T-34 question
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Post subject: T-34 question

Most T-34's on display have white trimmed road wheels. Most other models of tanks on display don't have the white trim.

Is this a tradition honoring T-34's?

I also see some artillery displayed with white tires.

Thanks for your help

Dennis,
I'm not a Russian Armor expert, but I've seen the white wheels on a variety of different Russian "May Day" parade vehicles in Moscow as well. I think they paint them to stand out, and they surely do! I'm also curious as to the reason behind painting wheels white, so hopefully one of our Russian Members can help. Sincerely, Rick

Traditional ornament for any parade vehicles. That's all.

Yes, this is a traditional paint scheme for parades and so on.
I think other technics also should be often painted so.
