Well, it seems there have been leaks and some of you already know where we're going this time - for all the others, please stuff your plane with any kind of tasty goods, as we're going to pay a visit to Milton's house, and sure you don't want to get there with empty hands, eh? Mr. Green

This is also our official leaving of Central America, so say bye to it! By the opposite side, New Mexico waits for us, with an airfield particularly rich in runways.

Hey Hobbs is 90 miles NW of me and I know its going to be hot so I'll bet there is plenty of cold beer there. If not I'll load some up and cruise up to altitude to cool it off and meet you at Hobbs. Also watch the weather, the forcast for Sunday is scattered Thunderstormes. Have a safe flight!

Sorry I missed your flight. There are Some things I can tell you about.
As you get near the Rio Grande on your right wing are the Chisos Mountians of the Big Bend. Along the river is Santa Elena Canyon with tall cliffs Also you'll see the airports of terlingua which is famous for the world chili cookoff and the"ghost town" of Lajitas.
Marfa is in an area that has been called one of the last American frontiers. It is situated at an altitude of 4,830 feet above sea level in a semiarid region with many dry streambeds that the summer thunderstorms fill and further erode. To the north are the Davis Mountains, to the southeast the Chisos Mountains, and to the southwest the Chinati Mountains. During the Mexican Revolution the United States government in 1911 sent cavalry troops to Marfa; it also built canvas hangars there from which biplanes flew reconnaissance missions. Marfa is also famous for the Marfa Lights, which are mysterious lights which appear to bounce around the sky. No explaination has been found. Marfa has also hosted the national soaring competition.
Pecos is know for the world best cantalopes ahd the worlds first rodeo. If you haven't had a cantalope from there one try to get some. Down the road to the east of Pecos is Rattlesnake Bomber Base a WW 2 bomber training base. They trained B-17 crews there. The only thing left is the flight ramp and two walls of one of the gigantic hangers.
As you look north of Pecos you'll see the Guadalupe mountians and guadalpue peak which is the highest point in Texas(8749 ft)
As you fly to Hobbs you pass close to Kermit, TX which is where we ride our 4 wheelers in the sand hills.
I'll let Milton tell ya about Hobbs. One thing for sure is Hobbs is one of the best places in the word to fly sailplanes.
Odessa which is where I live is 90 miles southeast of Hobbs.

Sorry I missed the flight today, I had to go rescue my daughter as her car died on the highway...turned out to be the alternator.
