Loyd Carrier Photos
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Post subject: Loyd Carrier Photos

Hi Guys,
Some of you will know me from HMVF. The Loyd is quite poorly recorded in books etc and as i am rebuilding a wreck I am looking for as many photos as possible of either restored loyds or wartime photos. I am especially interested in any photos of my vehicle while it was a target on elsenborn range in Belgium.

Thanks

Hi, Alastair, you're very welcome! Welcome

I can't help with Loyd carriers, but maybe other members can.

Hi Alastair

I' ve got some pictures of the Loyd carrier from the Brussels museum. If you're intrested I could mail them, but need some time to find them.
Been to the Elsenborn range frequently the last 20 years, but never seen the Loyd wreck there.

Thanks michel, I would be interested in any photos that you have. I have a series of photos showing what I think are three or four loyds on some hard standing following recovery, one of them in now with me, but my second vehicle doesn't appear in the sequence. Apparently they were driven out onto the range in the 60s as dressing rather than targets, I don't imagine they lasted too long as dressing, too flimsy!
