Document concerning different models of AV-1790 engine
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Post subject: Document concerning different models of AV-1790 engine

Not sure that anyone out there cares much about specifics concerning US Army tank engines in the 1950's/1960's, but if so, this might prove interesting. It's a document from Continental Motors on how to differentiate between the various models of their 1790 cubic inch gasoline tank engines. The engines examined are the AV-1790-7, AV-1790-8 and AVSI-1790-6. These engines were used in the M-47, M-48, and M-103 series of tanks as well as the M-88 tank retriever. I have a stash of stuff relating to Continental Motors, I'll keep uploading it to Internet Archive.
