M47 TRV?
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Is this a one-off deal? It's not mentioned in any sources that I'm aware of. Thanks, Rick

It's a local modification. The cable drum for the A-frame replaced the gun inside the turret. I recall reading about it and I'm pretty sure I've seen pictures on the web. I'll check and get back to you.

EDIT: It was mentioned again here.

Thanks Costas. It is a one-off modification as I suspected. It does have Korea wrote on it with no date. I got this photo from the Jarrett collection at US Army MHI in Carlisle, PA. Rick

You are welcome. Apparently though, it's not just an one-off, but an official ROKA conversion. It's mentioned in Jane's AFV Recognition Handbook (1987 edition) as well as the Ian Allan M48 book by Geoffrey Tillotson. And these are just the two books I just took a look at. There should be more.

I think it's a South Korean modification.
