Anyone going to the military vehicle show in Cleveland?
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Next weekend is the World of Tanks Cleveland Tank Plant Homecoming Military Show and Swap Meet on June 22-24. I plan on being there on the 23rd. Anyone planning on going?

Hi:

I'll be there, and we'll be selling a new book on the history of the Cleveland Tank Plant at David Doyle's tables.

We are going with the M114 and the M901. I also heard Vagabond is going.

Yes, we'll be attending. Most likely on Thurs 6/22 and Fri 6/23 during the day as I've got performances at night and two on Saturday downtown.

We look forward to meeting you all!

I got my copy of the Cleveland Tank Plant book. Mr. Doyle sold it to me himself. I would have liked to have talked to him a bit, but he was pretty busy selling books. All in all, a fun afternoon. On Saturday I drove back to MI, stopping at a few different towns to take pictures of some tanks. Camp Perry in Port Clinton OH has a few vehicles worth looking at.

Hi Walter:

I hope you liked the book! You're right about Camp Perry - some interesting stuff there. Is the M7 on display yet? It was in a compound near the display area when I was there in the summer of 2015.

It was a pleasure to meet some folks from this board at the show, including Vagabond. Thank you for popping by and introducing yourself!

Cheers,

Scott

No, the M7 is not out yet. They had an M5 Stuart, a Sherman, Sheridan, Abrams, M42 Duster and an M113. Unfortunately, the signs in front of each vehicle are rather poorly done and inaccurate.

We had a terrific time at the convention!

Met up with some old friends and had the pleasure of meeting Silviop15 and Scott Taylor.

Sorry we missed you, Walter - couldn't get there for Friday.

We are posting a photo gallery in a separate forum post.

Cheers,
VBs

Walter, send me a note to chris.causley @ mimths.org, I have a Continental Motors question.
