Here's another AFV Quiz
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Technically speaking correct on it being a Sherman Smile

Although not a tank - modded version used by Commonwealth forces - a shucks there's the answer

Time for me not to post any more quizzes and to learn from you guys - the Experten Smile

The clue for me was the slope of the hull. It seems typically 'Shermanesque'.

The rails and that center support bracket were the stumper. I'm not real comfy with commonwealth variants or modifications.

The Ram is real intrigueing to me though.

On a similiar note:
I have in on good authority that there is an 'Easy 8' with 'Screaming Mimi' mounts that has been dragged off a range, SOMEWHERE, in the US.

Its for sale, but no interior/ engines and the price is real steep. ($50,000 ??)

Just to let any onlookers know....

Yep -it's a Sexton. Apart from what I hinted at - what gave it away in the pic ?

No more quizzes from me in foreseeable future Laughing

Cheers - Thanks for such a great forum Smile

Time for me to stop quizzing and learn !

Can you put up a picture of the overall vehicle? The rails don't look 'normal' and I'ld like to see how it is part of the big picture

The triangular shaped cable reel holder gave it away for me. Thanks for posting the pic.
