Lovely, up to the point that the political message of "Bring them home" came up. I hate that some people have to bring their politics into something like this.

(Yes, I've been there. And yes, one of those faces was someone in my unit.)

Bring them home, but with honor, and victory.

Bravo!...Chuck. (Political is something we assiduously avoid at Com-Central...it's too much of a buzzkill)

Except for that subtle political message, the rest was great. Thanks Sweets. I thank every vet that I see and talk to for doing what I did, and that is to serve. They picked up the flag and are carrying it forward. I see the vets today are getting what Doug and myself, and every other Vietnam era vet should have received when we came home from military service, and that is recognition. We came home to taunts, verbal and physical abuse and people who spit on us, simply because we served during an unpopular war. At least today, people are beginning to say they were sorry for that. It wasn't our fault. I freely feel remorse for each and every service person that comes home in a box, but for each one I also feel a sense of pride in them for paying that ultimate price for the freedoms that we have today.

I hope I don't sound like a political activist by saying this, because I'm not. I just have a few strong feelings, and I know a lot of people that feel the same way I do. Thanks for the reminder Sweets, sometimes we kind of forget or ignore the realities of war.
