Post subject: March 4th Sunday flight

Fear of the dark? Here we give ourselves a chance to test our wits and weaknesses, if we manage to have a sight at the instruments while sipping a beer or soaking in our sweat while groping in search of an invisible landmark. A note of some relief comes from the news that we will be probably escorted by experienced night fighters, phew!

Gentlemen - there are add on scenary packages for today's flight, on for Hat Yai and the other for Huan Hin. Both are at AVSIM.

Huan Hin = vtph2004.zip
Hat Yai = scenery_vtss.zip

Not sure how to give a direct link - it just says www.avsim.com at the top on my browser.

And a little background on each for those interested:

Hat Yai is a big city located in south part of Thailand. Hat Yai is aged only 60-70 years , but it has been devoloped speedily to become an economics center of the Lower South. It is also a center of transportation for plane, train and automobile, and tourism and services here are perfect in every aspects. That is why it is very well-know among Thai and foreign tourists. Many airlines visit there every day such as Thai Airways Intl, Orient Thai, Air Asia and Nok Air.

Hua Hin is used almost exclusively for flight training, and at one time there were small commercial flights to Bangkok and Ko Samui, but I think these have stopped now. The city is home to several resorts, and also one of the King's vacation palaces.

Oooh! Good tip!

AvSim is tough to make direct links to a specific item, but can be done....try these links:

Hua Hin Thailand (VTPH) <--Click

Hat Yai Airport (VTSS) <--Click

Gentlemen, posted quite a few screenies, and I mean quite a few, over in the JG300 public forum for your viewing pleasure. Such a beautiful plane and a beautiful scenic night, couldn't resist!!

Thanks for a great flight gents. I'll be out the next 4-6 weeks learning to jump out planes and then a bit of time with the family as I am on a week training class now.

Great flying with ya, and looking forward to some great flights when I get back!

Yeah, definate thanks to letting us fly escort, had a complete blast making this flight! And how ironic to have Lurps down on the ground waitin for ya! Is that crazy or what?!

Great pics too Stoop! Got a great one there of us forming up - I was trying to deadstick that climb and hold her steady, which is a feat in the 109 at times! Especially trying to match speed, climb rate and heading all at once!

And again, that sunset is unreal! Although I didn't see the moon the whole trip, probably my settings.
