CCB_003
Multi-Mission Ferry Flight
Event begins immediately following the Sunday Flight.

First of all, let’s cover the required files list for this flight. These files are mandatory – you must have them installed on your system.

* The aircraft will be the Maule M7-260 available in the CC Downloads section.
* The scenery is the awesome Glacier Bay package available on Flightsim.com and Avsim. The file names to search for are: glbayv2a.zip and glbayv2b.zip. These are large downloads – 56 megs and 85 megs respectively, but ‘you get what you pay for’ in terms of file size. This package covers a large area in the northern panhandle of Alaska and includes accurate mesh, shorelines, landclass, airports and a whole lot of beautiful eye candy.

* The scenery files included in this package: move or copy the Com Central Bush Flights folder to your fs9\addon scenery folder. This adds camps at our destinations at Gilkey Glacier Lake and Chilkoot Valley Pond. Be sure to go into your Scenery Library and activate this scenery.

Now, on to the particulars for this adventure.

The CCB_003.zip file contains the following:

* CCB_003 Briefing This briefing document.
* CCB_003 Briefing_files folder Contains images for this document.
* CCB_003.fsn FSNav flight plan. Move or copy this file to your fs9\modules\FSNavigator\plan folder.
* CCB_003 VFR Haines to Skagway.PLN FS9 GPS flight plan. Move or copy this file to your My Documents\Flight Simulator Files folder.
* CCB_003-Sectional.jpg A partial sectional chart roughly describing our route.
* Com Central Bush Flights folder Contains scenery for Chilkoot Valley Pond and Gilkey Glacier Lake. Move or copy this folder to your fs9\addon scenery folder and activate it in the fs9 Scenery Library. Overwrite if prompted.

The Adventure

The Favorite Channel Lighthouse has broken down. Multiple electrical components for the light have corroded from the salt air and failed. Unfortunately, the packing seals for the spare parts are ripped, and they have failed as well! We need to get the parts they need to the lighthouse before noon, so that they can repair the light before nightfall. Once we have completed that, we will fly supplies up to the Gilkey Glacier Lake camp – they’re getting hungry up there. From there, we will go to the Chilkoot Valley Pond camp and pick up a party of vacationers for transit to Skagway Harbor, where they will later board a scenic Glacier Bay cruise.

WOW - Got all the files downloaded and installed, scenery activated, flight plan loaded, fuel and payload set, weather and time set, aircraft parked near assembly area with engine shut down and doors open, saved the flight so it's all good to go - and already I like what I see!!!! Looks like this is gonna be AWESOME scenery and a superb flight!

Gotta do yardwork and stuff, what time is this flight in terms of EST? 4:00 or so?

Yeah, about 4pm ET, roughly. It'll go right after we finish the Sunday Flight in the Howards.

What an absolutely GREAT flight!! Excellent scenery and GREAT work on all the prep work, Bob!!!!! Man, I gotta do more of these!!

Here's a few pix - After staying behind at Chilkoot Valley Pond to grill dinner, I fired back up after everyone was fed and finished the flight into Skagway Harbor. Excellent stuff!!!!
