Article on WW2 CDL Tanks
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

This is a little long but if you're interested in the CDL tank then this is a must read:

Nice find Mark!

Couple of questions which somebody my be able to answer..

1. In the 1937 trials what vehicle were the lights mounted on?

2. Not mentioned in the article but six turret examples were built in September 1939 - what tank were these for?

3. What did the Churchill CDL look like - anyone seen any images?

4. The Grant CDL was produced in early & late production types - what was the difference?

Cool

Thanks Jeff. Better than nothing

All I need now is an image of a T10 Pilot... thats the US version based on the M3 Medium and not to be confused with the T10 Production version based on the M3A1.

Results of this afternoons work can be viewed on JED

The whole saga detailing how complicated it is to add a single item to a site the size of JED can be read on the JED Community in the JED Guys blog by members of the community.
