-S-

This is about the most incredable robot I have seen yet,in terms of mobility. Watch it on the ice. There could be many usefull applications for this on Earth and space, unfortunatly..I see someone putting a gun on it. Enjoy regardless...

Amazing. Funnily enough, just the other day I ran across the video that Combat had posted about it here a coupla years ago.....that thing has come even farther and it's an impressive amount of development and machine control programming they have going on there.

I don't doubt it has military applications and I think making systems to take care of the more dangerous necessary tasks such as IED or mine detection and removal, etc., are laudable efforts if they keep our good people out of harm's way wherever realistically possible.

Wonder how they're going to address the noise issue for any semi-stealthy applications (scouting in the Afghanistan mountains comes to mind) and what the power unit lifetime is....

Unlike Bushy, who's probably having unwholesome fantasies already!

Could see that thing getting an electric motor and a fuel cell, and a solar cell, maybe some carbon nano tube based parts for good measure. While I'm at it why not throw in a whole lot of interchangable task specific arms and maybe a small beer fridge that will only accept premium brands
