I ran across this photo on Flickr. It appears the left exhaust grill protrudes out. Anyone know why? Or am I seeing things? Also note the white box on the top of the turret.

Yeah, because it does. By the way, the exhaust is the center grill.

You're right. The left side is intake. I just heard from the photographer and this was taken near Aberdeen.

Actually all three are exhaust, just the center one is for the engine, the left and right are for the oil coolers.

The image of Tanker2010 shows the center grill missing, the tank Mark posted appears to have the same ailment. Happens a lot since the bolts get real brittle over time with the heat. When all grills are installed they should stick out almost the same distance, with the center protruding maybe half and inch more than the sides.

That white box looks like instrumentation, very similar to some of the MILES stuff we had at NTC. Being Aberdeen it could be anything

That tank may have a used replacement grill door on the right side as it seems to be a miss-match to the paint. Even with heat discoloration of the center exhaust, the right oil cooler exhaust usually doesn't get discolored like that one.

I've had to do such a replacement with 'recycled' grilldoors after one of my tanks got 'rearended' by another tank. Shocked

As for the white thing behind the TC hatch,.....personal cooler or dry erase board come to mind, but maynot be the case here. Test equipment might be the best explaination.

Regards
Don
