The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Here's a photo of the interior of an M1064 120mm mortar carrier based on the M113A2. From the outside, it looks identical to the M1064A3 carrier based on the M113A3. But when you look at the laterals and external fuel cells, it is apparent that it is an A2 based vehicle. _________________ RobG

I was looking a an M113-series vehicle today. It had external fuel tanks and the spall liners inside. I thought that made it an M113A3 but the data plate said A2. It was OD green and looked like it had never been issued to a field unit. Can someone tell me if this is possibly a prototype A3? _________________ "TUMBLEWEED"
