Thanks Costas, I know that website. It's run by an italian guy and uses some of my pictures, but it's not 100% reliable. In fact, it goes against both landships and Wikipedia on this specific case

It would appear to be a variation of the Armstrong RBL (Rifled Breech Loading) 12-pdr 8cwt type, although I cannot be entirely sure. Like many guns of its vintage, it lacks a recoil system.
