Heh, Thanks Stoopy. Actually, Luft is making an RC Focke (1/6 semi scale) and is trying to decide if he should go JG300 or 4/JG54 (my cousin's gruppe) with the paint job.

I normally fly the big red SOB - you know the one - couldn't miss it in the air if ya was blind. I jest "borrowed" this one for a flight. *hehehehe*

Interesting, Red. Fairly large R/C, I do a bit of that (or, rather, used too). Who's kit is it? Pica's?? They do nice stuff and it's a popular one, or used to be....I have a Pica Duellist (twin .40 non-scale pattern-like plane w/retracts, very hot) that I need to put on the bench after I get off my kiester someday and finish the GeeBee "Z" that's about 1/4 done.

Lots of scalers go with JG54 from what I've seen, JG300 gets much less attention, must be the blander night fighter paint, plus the rank smell Laughing Have him send some progress pix in the R/C forum here, several of us would wanna see it!

Oh, and for that inspiration I took EXOS' hint and tried Google Video...works well, here's the vid for ya.....after viewing it, go cause some pain in CFS3 MP!!

Click click click click ----> Big Red Rocket

Only thing I don't like is all the quality loss...real fuzzy, can't see the SpitPest pieces falling through the sky!!

Heck of a video, Stoopy. Glad I didn't see my name up there in your sights LOL. Nice choice of music too.

Mwuahahaha. Love it. Luft just popped in a while back and played 100%. EVen though that stick of ours likes to short out on us.

CMP is the maker of the Focke Pete's working on. He got it from Large Scale planes. Lemme get you the link to his buildoff site -ran outta dough so it's on the shelf right now.

www.rcgroups.com/forum...p?t=558043 Link for the site

And I'll also give you the link of his goof around with his trainer, the Art-Tech Wing Dragon.

Outta curiosity, Stoop - isn't JG300 the longest-running online simsquad out there?

VERY Cool job he's doing on that, thanks for the link, good reading!! I guess when the Chinese say "stand-off scale" they mean it, control surface gaps and all!! He's doing a terrific job overcoming the weaknesses of the base product, it looks like. Great detail on the mods he's made along the way, and getting good advice - it's hard not to want to re-engineer everything in an ARF and make it stronger, better etc., and then you have a heavy plane that's a turd in the air. Like someone told me long ago, build it to fly, not to crash....but y'all probably know all that.

Hopefully he'll have it in the air soon, you better be there to support him since his knees will be knocking together the first time at the controls I bet (I spent a year on my first ground-up kit, a 50" GeeBee Model E with lotsa detail added, and could hardly keep from falling over with the shakes on the first flight)! Smile

Be interesting to know what kinda motor he'll be putting in it??!!!

As far as JG300 - naw, I wouldn't say we're the oldest by any stretch, thank you though. Believe it not we're kinda young compared to some of the other squads 'round here. Other groups like IMS and such have us beat by a long shot, with backgrounds going back to CFS2 or 1. If my math is right, we'll be having our 4-year anniversary in another couple of months, and we are the oldest Axis squad for CFS3 (having been founded specifically for CFS3 on the eve of it's release). The only axis-oriented group to compete in CFS3 WEC also, and we did pretty well there, considering. Just don't confuse us with other JG300's such as the IL2/FB squad, which is a group of folks over in France I believe (nice guys but not us). We do claim to be one of the more content, happy and FUN groups. which is the secret. Wink

"We haven't been around forever, it just seems like it" Laughing  Laughing  Laughing

Oh and by the way, you might wanna download the NGNG ("No Guts No Glory") plane set for CFS3, available in the download section here. We saw Luft try to join an NGNG game that Stepchild was hosting earlier today, and he couldn't enter, probably due to a plane mismatch error. The NGNG planes are for 100% but are also painted yellow and bright green to make the hunt a little easier (not always by much) and make for some more action. IMO add-on planes tend to suck for CFS3 MP due to the inevitable aircraft mismatch issues, but the NGNG set is definitely a good and safe deal. Go get 'em!

EURO been around since April '99 and we're not the oldest either.

I believe PS (Predator Squadron) have been going since December '98 which is when CFS1 came out.
But that's only coz I know 'em.
There are are others who have been going as long but I don't have names.

Smile

Wow you guys been around a long time.

Yeah I'll have Luft go get those planes, Stoopy.

He wants to run a Saito 170 rotary in there, 3 cyl, or spend a grand on the 9 cyl Technopower rotary. The boy wants realism, and is trying to get a fan for the front, because, IIRC, you never saw the engine on the Fockes, but you saw the fan. He wants to make it sound realistic - typical eh? Laughing

4 years, eh? You've been around as long as my marriage. That's scary. If I remember clearly, CFS3 was Luft's wedding gift. hahahahaha.

We were just on the radio a while back, about a 1/2 hour ago with Alan Eisenberg, so I'm kind of tweaked. Really tweaked.
