Post subject: June 11th Sunday flight

It's a particularly eventful flight this time, as we're going to visit one of the most astonishing marvels of the planet: Ayers Rock. A magic place which reminds of ancient Aboriginal legends and of their religious respect for nature. Pay attention to your instruments: it's a magnetic rock!

Stoopid question: Does that big ol' rock show up in default FS9 scenery or should one install an add-on in order to see it?

I may be wrong, Stoopy, but I believe you cannot see it in stock FS9 scenery - I remember time ago I was looking for it with no success; on the other side, the VOZ scenery should make it appear in itsb right place.

Get it here, rel. 1.2:
-> vistaoz.org/downloads.html

There should be also a fix, but I wasn't able to get it so far - any idea where to download it?

Voz scenery is available from their web site Smile

You need to install version 1.1 before applying the 1.2 patch.

Sorry to hear that Hangy, and no I don't, my 6600GT is a MSI flavour, I found them to be very reliable.

Sorry to hear your VidCard went tits up Hangy ........

maybe to add a lil more to the confusion ............. wouldn't it be an idea to fly the Howard today instead of the Beech?
reason beeing that the Howard is a wee bit faster and also has some build in climate control Cool

#77 YTNK Tennant Creek (Northern Territory/Australia) -> YAYE Ayers Rock (Northern Territory/Australia)
Overall distance: 388,1 nm.

Estimated time: 2:13 h. with Beechcraft Amphibian

Estimated time: 1:18 h. with Howard 500

Just thinking outloud here ...............................

Whoops - I just read your request and e-mailed the plan to you, then saw you got it already - doh!
Well, now you have two of them, but remember you have the right to fly just one.

Well, I don't know if it was 'cause it's winter there, and in despite of summer textures it was time for a setting sun, but I believe I saw some of the most incredible colours I ever saw in a Sunday flight:

I'm thinking to assemble a two-legs flight next time, first a small tour of the premises to spot the rock, then land nearby, switch plane and take off again for another destination.

It should be at dusk time, so good as well for taking pictures.

Hey guys, Thanks for letting me join in the fun of your Sunday flights. I should miss the next two Sundays but can't wait until I get back to fly somemore. I still have lots to learn but you are doing a fine job of teaching me.

Thanks to Com-Central for all the hard work getting this together.
