Sherman Dozers register
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

From G104 forum :

"There was one at or around Ft Knox a year or so ago. Cannot say for sure if it
is still there though can find out. Only evidence of it being a M4 105mm dozer
tank is the oil resevoir above the transmission. I may be mistaken as that is
the only clue I could see." (karl van sweden).

I did some researches, and that's what I've found :

Photo taken in 2004 :

Photo taken in 2009, we can still see traces of the bulldozer mount on the running gear (where there is no paint..) :

I will be quite severe, but :

-the M4A1(75) ex-Dozer would be better without French WW2 markings, it would make more sense to "technically" display it as a Dozer tank, and to repaint the M4A1(76) with French WW2 markings instead.

-The French WW2 markings are very incorrect. They don't 100% correspond to any WW2 Free French unit.

First, there were 2 tanks in the French army that were called "Valmy" and none of them were M4A1s(75).

One belonged to the 2ème Cuirassiers, a unit that received only M4A4s, M4A2s, M4A1s(76) and M4A3s(105).

The second one belonged to the 5ème RCA, and was an M4A4(75) :

The tank at Sinsheim is mixing up both markings of the 2ème Cuirassiers and the 5ème RCA.

I know that Sinsheim owns another M4A1(76). This particular one could be called "Valmy", and the M4A1(75) ex-Dozer could be repainted as a normal US tank. IMO, it would make more sense...

Rolling Eyes if only..

Yes, there is room for improvments in Sinsheim, like everywhere else...
How about the Mobelwagen with a Bofors 40mm while a 3.7 cm Flak 43 is available?

But there are also a lot of positive things to say about the Museum, is a no-profit organization who achieved impressive results, and it's a place very well suited for family visits, unlike traditional military museums, so it's able to attract a much wider audience.

Did you see the Deloreane?
It's one of my favourites non-military cars (probably because this is the car you can time-travel with).

Sure, I enjoyed visiting the cars collection too. It was a very pleasant visit, apart from the snow Laughing

Heck I time travel every time I get into my Ford Pinto.

this M4A1(75) was built by Lima LW. It has the typical rear tail light guards and "bent rod" lifting rings. I would say it is a mid-production Lima LW tank or a late one, but not a very late one (the last month's production Lima tanks are supposed to have "angled" cast lifting rings).
