She's an A3 Neil, Late model Anniston rebuild. She has an M1 front thermal shroud. Also has the searchlight cable aperture welded over. That should be at Irzyk Park. Location: 42.526435, -70.881135 _________________ Joe_D

Joe, I agree but was wondering why they have the searchlight guard in front of the M85? Is that si they don't shoot the gun tube? _________________ "TUMBLEWEED"

Mark, Was kept in place to prevent the TC from shooting the training aid devices used during gunnery/ TCPC. Telfare .50 cal and Brewster .22 sub caliber were mounted where the searchlight would be. We'd use them on reduced scale ranges. Was a money saving device and also afforded crews the ability to fire main gun tables on main gun restricted ranges. Joe _________________ Joe_D
