Sturmgeschutz III Ausf D assault guns - stolen
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Hello,

well, I think that the article is true (means : there are accusations against the company who restored the monument, but that doesn't mean that the accusations are true), but I don't know what exactly happened. I'm not sure that the facts related here are exact. Here is the vehicle the article refers to :
www.com-central.net/index.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=14529

What I know is that "Dmitry Buskmakow just sent me some pictures of the StuG III from Volokolamsk, that has been recently restored by his company. The side skirts and the roof have been accurately refurbished".

Now, it appears to me that only external elements were restored, like the roof and side skirts. The authorities are saying that the entire vehicle is a reproduction. I don't know what to think about this, but I would say that the accusations are not true.

Hello!
This affair refers to Volokolamsk monument. Dmitry Bushmakow company had the contract with local officials to restore the whole monument, not only the StuG, and have a criminal case as a result for damage the monument. This case is widely discussed in “tank circles” in Russia.
