Still roaming around mountains and lakes, this time we'll go right through the border of Yukon - those of you who can smell it, please start addressing us to any gold-mine there Mr. Green

Another good flight coming it seems!!! Question: I see this one crosses another border - what country will we be in when we land? Is that Siberia, or Russia, or just the Polar cap/Antarctica?????

Hi Stoopy,

if you refer to that orizontal line straight above, that's the border dividing British Columbia from Yukon (west) and Northwest Territory (east).
The other big boundary on the... ehr... left, is the southernmost part of Alaska Mr. Green

almost forgot it

NAV panel for the Bf109 that the piggies use

works for NAV and GPS use

this is still a "beta" therefore it's not available in the main d/l section also there is still a small issue with the Auto Throttle setting,
but we are working on that.
it's an "EZ-install"
if you hit shift+4 it will pop up

name : Bf109_NP_v1005.zip
size : 360 kB
available here

And Marco, that file
- SS_Harry
on simviation theres a neat little program that shows your fs2004 flight plan in google earth. I have both fs2004 and google earth but have i got round to downloading the program and trying it? of course not!l

here's a link (cos i'm good like that!), it's called flips and it's 5th from the bottom (at time of posting) ...

fella's !

I made a boo boo with the Howard 500vc EZ-install file that I made.

inadvertadly I didn't include the aircraft folder due to wich now the file installs in your main fs9 folder,
to correct this, copy the contents of the Howard500vc folder to your Howard 500 vc folder that is in the aircraft folder and all should be well,
I made up a new file and also included the latest new paintjob for the Howard bringing it up to 25 different ones, wich wil be uploaded to the download section after I post this message.

Again my apologizes for the inconvinience

Thanks Fled!!! Will be sure to download it ASAP and this is COOL how you put these together!!

I'm still not sure exactly what country this flight ends up in, whoever owns that Territory, not that it matters a great deal - I've heard of the Yukon but isn't that a Peninsula in the South American Continent?

At any rate, it looks like this will end up far enough on the polar ice cap that we should see some Penguins, finally. That makes it a double challenge for some of us, as I went through a period of having frightening, recurring nightmares involving penguins as a child, so this will be a good opportunity to finally face and challenge those fears. Looking forward to it, hope to make this one too!

Post subject: Re: October 23rd Sunday flight

Ooo! Ooo!!! I gotta 'nother question!!

This keeps happening to me : I get the ol' Howard up to an altimitude of about 12000 feet, level out in straight and level flight, and work it up to a speed of 260 KIA (climbing at 250 KIA).

Right at 260 knots indicated, I start flirting with the "Overspeed" warning so I pull a little prop or throttle, just a tad, to keep it around 258-259. Don't wanna loose too much time, y'know.

So anyway it'll dance around a bit in the bumpy air I'm usually in with real wx set up, and then inevitably, BAMM!! Overstress! Flight over.....

I'm well below the limitmark on the airspeed gauge so is this normal? I see the cruise speed for the flight plan above is 260 so I have to guess that the rest of you can fly at that speed safely?

Shocked

the 260 kias is the speed limit of the aircraft , not exactly shure but the higher you get the lower the kias gets, I fly the Howard at approx 220-230 KIAS at 14,000 ft prop revs at 2100, manifold pressure 36, mixture 20%.

and do not seem to suffer from "anomalies" with them settings.
