Wow. You lucky guy, to be able to be so close to them...they're both beautiful. Thanks for posting that!

Dumb question maybe but they seem to be quite operational judging by the modern things like tailwheel, Warner engine, "Experimental" warning and modern avionics on the Dr.1 at least....they're flown semi-regularly, I hope?

I was told that that they are flyable but I have never seen them in the air. They didn't fly them at this years annual airshow either.

I will have to watch them again because I didn't notice the rust on the DR.1's axle. The planes are normally kept inside the hangars. They had pushed them outside for people to get a better look at them for the monthly event on WW1. The planes went back in the hangers at the end of the day.
