White stars...
The AFV ASSOCIATION was formed in 1964 to support the thoughts and research of all those interested in Armored Fighting Vehicles and related topics, such as AFV drawings. The emphasis has always been on sharing information and communicating with other members of similar interests; e.g. German armor, Japanese AFVs, or whatever.

Post subject: White stars...

Back in the days of the post-war dinosaurs '50's-'70's when Olive Drab reigned, how was it determined what classes of vehicles (especially wheeled, obviously) displayed the white star in it's livery? Presumably there was a regulation dictating what category vehicles went "starless". I'm guessing a potential combat role, but I'm sure there have been exceptions.

Who got stars on their OD & by what criteria?

Good question, I guess I need to see which TB or FM from that time period covered that info, I might have it.
