Post subject: September 24th Sunday flight

Our first exploration over kiwi soil requires us to change our usual mount and take Milton's Beechcraft D18; given the peculiar characteristics of these two narrow islands, crossed by important mountain chains and interspersed with many lakes, you might want to install both the wheeled and the amphibian versions, as we're going to get intermediate stops as a diversion. This time, for instance, Slope Hill looks a nice place to have some time fishing, before landing at Dunedin Cool

Also, remember to unVOZ your scenery installation: Australian texture sets don't fit New Zealand Wink

Does this mean we can UN-VOZ or should we continue using VOZ with the updated New Zeland mesh files?
Sorry Spanky, dont mean to get technical on you...

Hi, Pickle.

Though not an expert, I guess I'm not wrong if I tell you that the VOZ adds specific sets of ground textures for different areas of Australia, so it shouldn't affect New Zealand at all.

Mesh files, instead, correct the elevation of FS9 stock ground surveys to heights closer to reality; so, even in this case, New Zealand and Australia should have nothing to share.

In fact, un-installing VOZ is not mandatory at all, but I fear there could be "interferences" I'd like to avoid, expecially in relation to the inability of VOZ to detect the changes of seasons - consider that there winter is turning into autumn right today.

Moreover, past experience tells me that stock scenery plus extra mesh makes New Zealand quite attractive Wink

To add some food for tought Laughing

As stated VOZ exchanges texture files to make the surroundings look like Australia in real life, when going outside Australia it's advisable to UNVOZ, otherwise the rest of the world starts looking like Australia Rolling Eyes

This afternoon I watched "The World's Fastest Indian" with Anthony Hopkins playing the role of New Zealander Burt Munro who stated during the movie that he was from Invercargill which he says is the most beautiful city in the world.

If you haven't seen this put it on your list. It is a great movie. Based on a true story, Burt is a 67 year-old grandfather who runs his customized Indian Scout motorcycle at the Bonneville Salt Flats at 183.586 mph.

Maybe Burt will come out to the airport to see us off.

Crossing fingers, but looks like I may make it today. Hoping so as I downloaded every New Zealand file AVSIM had! A lot of photoreal city sets and some great Andy Wier Mesh!

Can someone shoot me the game IP?
