Post subject: well its not a plane,,,but pretty close

Well I do not have or fly R/C's planes but I have just very recently purchased a high end R/C truck. The temperature up here in Alberta has put a postponment on the engine break-in procedure thus I have not even fired up this beast yet, my model is race ready out of the box and I want to follow the factory break-in to a "T". Thus far all I have been doing is buying up all sortsa tools an gizmo's so I'm ready for my first outing, I even went and bought a laser thermometer so I can run the engine at its optimal break-in temperature.

I am having an issue though with the auto start mechanism, when I insert it into the hole and proceed to turn it over I am not getting the green light for my glow plug,,,to my knowledge it could be the glow plug itself is fouled or something in the wiring,,,,,or the power starter is not putting out the required 1.5 volts to the plug. I have ordered new plugs from the factory, I also got a glow plug igniter that I hopw I don't have to use,,,,but a tech told me to test the voltage being discharged from the starter unit using a tester. I have no clue really on where to place the probes from my tester to do this,,,but regardless,,,,it'll all work out I'm sure, I have a co-worker who's cousin lives for this hobby and even does competion's with his 4 or 5 units he has,,,,,,so I will be lining up a get-together with him to assist me with getting this thing going properly.

I'll slap a couple pics in here to show ya's my new toy anyways,,,,as I said,,,it's not a plane but pretty close,,,,follow this link and watch a few demo vids and this is proven,,,,lol....

My model is the S-Maxx, not the revo,,,the only difference is in the suspension,,,,,same engine,,,,plus the revo is stock with the 4x4 and mine I would have to order the components for that,,,,eventually I will,,,the revo has more vids so this is the link I gave

Judging from the videos I'd say you're ready to do some "flying" there Hoppa!
Looks like a heck of a lot of fun too. I don t know a thing about trucks and cars . . . other than keeping plenty of spare parts on hand, so maybe some of the other RC'ers here can give some advice. If you're still at a loss, try the forums at RC Universe.

It's good you have a buddy in the hobby that knows a lot. That alone will save you hours of aggravation.

Good luck Hoppa, and I hope you find hours of enjoyment with the RC hobby!
