...and now for something completely different...

"And You And I"

Complete with a lot of wonderful art by Roger Dean, who did most (or all) of the album cover art for Yes.

Note the little "change quality" sprocket thingy on the Youtube window at bottom. mouse it and click 720 HD (since Youtube doesn't permit HD as default)

I can't fully describe how much I was able to alter the perception of the sound on this album using only the most organic of salad toppings back in the ol' days.... Cool

Underneath the video to the right of the "Like" button is a "Share" button. Click on the Share button and you will see an "Options" link. If you click on the "Options" link there are three options including a HD link. Put a check mark in the HD link box and the video "Share" url will change to a HD link.

And You And I in HD by Yes
Standard Definition youtu.be/FZcGc-nbLco

High Definition (720) youtu.be/FZcGc-nbLco?hd=1

Enjoyed the video. Smile

Thanks for the tip, I didn't know that little trick. Lotsa' buttons I've never pushed there before.

Let's try it now that there's finally a good qualiy version of this* on the 'Tube....

"Rumble" in HD - Link Wray

<"Vector" voice on> Oh, Yeah! <"Vector" voice off">

*Historical note...back in the day, this tune (an instrumental, fer cryin' out loud) was banned on numerous radio stations because....it was too dangerous. Rolling Eyes

What's the difference between Zlad (Elektronik Supersonik) and DJ Balloon?

DJ Balloon thinks he's laying down some serious tunes....

My favorite single musical artist for over 40 years, this was the instrumental break from "Morning is the long way home" on the "Ice Water" album (1974 or so), here re-released as an instrumental single. Now I've got to find a copy.....

How 'bout a little Johnny Winter? .I believe this is from a few years ago and sadly he doesn't appear to be in such great shape now, but at least he's still touring...awesome jam here:

Pretty good, as covers go. I like the guitar interpretation especially.

Used to listen to this in circumstances you're better off not even able to imagine in aerorifle troop's EM club of the 17th Cav, 101st Abn. in VN. Atmosphere was....heavy.

Never heard of this chick, but she's pretty good.

As a bonus, some of the most flattering pictures of Janis ever. And the camera was not often kind....

Does a righteous tune ever benefit from visuals?

For the younger sau's amongst us, here's a little something from 1979...actually all of side B of Nicolette's first album (though she'd backed up about every decent band out there at one time or another).

The breakout song on this was "Rhumba Girl", but what always hooked me was the side B opener of the Holland-Dozier-Holland song "Don't Do It", covered by just about everybody, including the band...but Nicolettes was special.

Just HOW special is evident in the musical lineup for that album....Pretty much everybody in Little Feat, various Jackson Browne lineups, Prime Doobie Brother Pat Simmons and a whole lotta' names you'll recognize from the singer-songwriter era. Pretty nice lineup to kick off a debut solo effort, for sure.

Nicolette Larson – vocals, backing vocals, guitar, percussion
Paul Barrère – guitar
James Burton – guitar, dobro
Valerie Carter – backing vocals
Victor Feldman – vibes, percussion
Michael McDonald – backing vocals
Bill Payne – keyboards
Herb Pedersen – guitar, backing vocals
Linda Ronstadt – backing vocals
Bob Glaub – bass guitar
Mark T. Jordan – keyboards
David Kalish – guitar
Bobby LaKind – percussion, conga, triangle
Albert Lee – guitar, mandolin
Fred Tackett – guitar
Ted Templeman – percussion, backing vocals
Klaus Voorman – bass guitar
Sid Sharp – synthesizer, concertmaster
Jimmy Haskell – strings, accordion, conductor, string arrangements, woodwind arrangement

Chuck Findley – horn
Jim Horn – horn
Plas Johnson – flute
Andrew Love – saxophone
Steve Madaio – horn
Rick Shlosser – drums
Patrick Simmons – guitar
Edward Van Halen - guitar on "Can't Get Away from You"

"Don't Do It" just rules, but I like other stuff on here, including "The Angels Rejoiced". I amped up my own version of Don't Do It and added some echo, but this ain't it...

So, here ya' go....
