A good question indeed, given that the other Dick Dale's given name was Richard Monsour prior to changing it to the stage name we know now. Might be that ol' Richard caught this episode one night while having engaged in 'one toke over the line' hisself, and got the idea in his head to be the poseur rather than the posee' (can I get a spelling ruling on that?).
Making this video a sligbtly more culturally significant find than perhaps originally thought! If I may be allowed to vastly stretch the normallly-accepted limits of the term "slightly"
