Stopprd by awhile back with a thingeee about finding CFS1 in the bowles of my puter and have been having some fun just flying the quick missions... But just as a thought hit the multiplayer button just to see what happened .... and how depressing it didn't take me anywhere..
Have loaded IL2 and drop in ther when I can but it's just not the same as the old CFS1 2 3 days when we all use to get togehter and have some good old fun.....
Miss those days and miss the get togethers we had (with the hard work of Bush)....
God bless you all for Xmas and a great thanks to everyone who made those Sat. nights so enjoyable, and so unforgetable...
Although I don't see everyone as much as I used too you all are never forgotten...... Be well and the best to all everyday..

HOLY COW! Hiya Mav! Long time no see!!

I would start looking for posts about CFS1, I've heard rumors that there might be some pre-game FFA (Free For All) warm up games prior to that date... Wink

By the way, with all these fast computers and connections we all have now, lag should be at a minimum... Wink

I seem to remember... trolling the memory banks that it was 1998 when i picked up my PII 166mhz puter (can't even remember HD size, summat ridiculous by today's standards).

The reason why? Someone at work had mentioned this WWII flight sim!! Well having started my passion for virtual flight back in the days of something called a 'BBC computer' and a 5 1/4 inch floppy sim, wire framed spitfire thingy ma jig. Hooked!!

CFS1 Wow!! full colour, hat switches so you can see front, left, right 'n' behind! How good does it get??

The Zone.......... so many mammories er soz meant memories Wink For me one of the legendary names that sticks out... TailWaxr! Damn that guy did things (maybe still does) in a Mustang!

Ace, Hit, Duster, Sly... Good times and life long friends

P1, 75MHz.
And, after six months, I upgraded to a P1, 90MHz.
Man, that and my Ti4600 32Mb card I thought I was looking at 'real-life'!!!

ROFL... I can remember those days (despite what Fled tells ya')

Pent 166, 16mb Vid card and count it...yep, 16MB system ram and an 4GB HD. What in the world was I going to use ALL THAT space for..lol

You're right Jel, those days were exciting in the 'puter world and I had a similar experience with CFS1. I was flying FS95 and found a Jet Sim called Jet Fighter which I spent many hours in the 'saddle' on when someone showed CFS! WOOHOOOO! That's what I was lookin' for!!! What great graphics and YOU CAN SHOOT OTHER PLANES!! How much more do you want?...lol

But then I discovered the "Zone" button...

OH WAIT... NOW, you can go 'online' and shoot REAL LIVE opponents too!! WHOA!!! I was in love...lol
