I took these around February 2006,

It was in front of the Iraqi National Police HQ's.

Looks pretty old and possibly indigenous.

They look vaguely familiar, like WWI era... Dont suppose you checked for any markings on the breech?

Only marking were the Arabic symbols that are in the picture.
