Neil: M24 S/N is on glacis right (bow MG side) down low, maybe just above the "beak".

Tomorrow's my one free day, albeit mostly in the air. Fort Lewis is my first priority, but if I can I will also check out Fort Casey (one of the few with disappearing guns in place - retrieved from the Philippines), and the Washington National Guard Museum at Camp Murray sometime during the week...

Ft Casey will be tough. It is on Whidbey Island which means a ferry ride. And I think it is limited hours on the ferry. If you miss the last one it is a LOOONNNGGG way around

AH Whidbey Island, I know it well.

Bob is right about the ferry to South Whidbey Island then up the Island to Ft Casey. If driving around it isn't too bad, unless hitting grid lock in Seattle, or Everette with 'shift change' of Boeing or Microsoft.

The trip on I-5 to Mount Vernon, then Hwy 28 to Anacortes, Deception Pass, Oak Harbor, Coupeville, then to Ft Casey.

This was from 1997. I lived on the Island from 1994-98.

Yeah, google maps is telling me driving around is quicker - although I was a bit surprised since it didnt look nearly as direct. I'll try to go today (actually, I arrive at 10:49!), so traffic shouldnt be too bad hopefully...

Yeah, if you go today is the best.

Hey you can take photos of the Oak Harbor P.D.'s V100 if they still have it.

There is a National Guard Armory in Anacortes, but no static. They used to be a Combat Engineer unit. No others on 'The Islands'.

Have a fun drive

According to your AFV register (V3.0 12 June 2008) there was M20.
Sorry for trouble.
