Good news, it was restored by OTO Melara in 2007 and they added a kind of roof on top of it. It wasn't a full restoration, the fittings missing from the rear hull weren't added, but the replica gun was removed and replaced with a correct one. All in all it looks pretty well, definitely better than before. see pictures below:
