On April 1st, 2012 De Peel airbase will be renamed to Lt Gen Best barracks. Also there is a PRTL placed at the entrance of the airbase (soon to be barracks). The PRTL is former 13th Air Defence Battery. Source: Defensiekrant nr 5 9 februari 2012.

Leopard 1V rn KU-93-65 sn 12367 wille move to 330 Material Maint.plt. props dep at Maaldrift. Last week the were trying to start it and take it away, but the electrical system failed.

Expectation is that it will move in a couple of weeks.

Just returned and found out that the Leo1V mentioned above is indeed gone from Oirschot.

Lesley

The last thing I heard, is that because the Dutch goverment has fallen all tank sales are blocked.

So the remaining tanks are still here Mr. Green

However this Leo 2 is German, look at the German cross at the turret Wink

I will go there saturday

The former 11Tkbat Leo1V is located between the cinema and obstacle course together with a M113C&V.

In front of the buildings of 42nd BLJ is a AMX-13, near the traditionsroom of the 17th Painfbat is also a AMX-13.

On the left of the backgate (entrance to the training area) are the other 3 Leopard 1Vs which are at Oirschot for training purposes.

There are two areas were the tanks, PZH2000 will give demonstrations, one at the Strijpse Kampen (airport side) and one area behind the cinema.

Have a nice day!

Regards,
Lesley
