#16: Re: Of the record; 'Heinz Barracks ' in Bastogne Author: L.Delsing, Posted: Fri Dec 04, 2009 3:32 pm ---- Hello Dontos,
Unfortunately the 41 Tkbat (Regiment Hussars Prince Alexander) is disbanded on August, 1st, 1994. They were based at Hohne Camp which is a few kilometers from the Bergen gunnery ranges. They probably trained a lot.
Between 1979 - 1992 we had 12 tank battalions (including the battalions in storage for mobilisation) equipped with the Leopard 1 and Leopard 2. Now we have two battalions left
the 11th in the south and 42nd in the north.
At the moment the only tank competition we have left is the so-called Bult-Francis Cup (a Canadian who helped to rebuild the Dutch cavalry after the 2nd WW IIRC).
Regards,
Lesley

Just back from Bastogne, had some action there with the Priest. The good news is that our minister of defence promised that the HQ will be preserved.
