I always thought these where only used for staff cars

I believe it is an early M-3 light tank. It still has the sponsen mounted MG, the 37mm is a later model than your picture of the M-2, Turret has different pistol port arrangement, idler wheel is the large 'trailing link' style used in the M3 & M5.

Definitely an M3 and yes ... Patton made up the rules as he went along. Mr. Green

I'd did some looking around and it appears to be an M3A1. The main gun is definately not what was on the M2 series.
