Despite having relatively few monument vehicles listed in the JED App for the iPhone I have managed to receive 24 emails offering help with images, details etc on various monuments in the past 10 days from people all over the planet.

I suspect this will grow as I slowly add additional locations (somebody please send me text file copies) If any of the list compilers wants to receive copies of the emails then let me know... I'll add you to the CC list for the emails and we can work out some form of answering system like Neil answers emails re USA vehicles, Shadd europe etc etc..

Hi Jim,

have 1 register fairly complete (NLD) and I'm working on 2 others (DTL & AUT)

If you want, you could get an TXT copy of the NLD register
(planning is to have first release end of January-2010 Mr. Green )

Concerning the other 2, any additional info / picture's in advance will be easier to process then afterwards Cool

Just a text file of the locations would help tremendously and also might prompt people to report monument locations that aren't on the listing.

I've compiled a textfile of the register you can find it here: www.afvregister.org/Download.aspx (the world afv register). It contains all whats currently in the register, but be aware it's about 635 pages and a massive 14 MB. Hope thats what you need.

BTW I'm always interested in additional information.

Excellent! More later but at the moment I'm rewriting the app so that anyone who wants to receive notifications for a particular country only can do so rather than receiving notifications for every country.

No problem if it is not up-to-date, it may give me an idea of vehicle's that I may have missed
Is there have been something in the past and you do not know that, you will not start looking for it
Now I can check if it is still there or that it has moved

All most forgot, I'm also "looting" the Austrian and German part Cool

Just a text file of the locations

Jim,

I'm total not familiar with IPhone things

Do you need an simpl txt file (.txt) or another type of txt file format??

I have this question because Tichenor his file is an rich text file (.rtf)

Also, what info do I have to loose from the file, if it have to be an rtf file?
I have saved an copy of the Netherlands Register and, without modification, the file is +/-40Mb big
There is no way to send this file to you, even packed to an ZIP file (compression only 38%, so file still 24Mb)

The original open office file is only 4Mb

One question in general that has nothing to do with this topic:
How do you get some-one's name in the qoute text box??
I alway's get "array"

Simple text file is best. I edited the original rtf file to remove all the excess formating and saved it as a .txt file which has made it around 300kb. I'm just formatting it now so that all I have is a line for each location in the form Country, Province/state, address, name of location. This I will use as a basis for the pages and probably post a copy in the file area.

a plain text file shouldn't have any images in it - thats what is probably causing the file size.

Where is this happening?
