L 6/40 Author: Massimo_Foti, Location: Lugano, SwitzerlandPosted: Mon Feb 08, 2010 8:17 pm ---- This tank has an interesting story, in the fifties it was used as a monument inside an Army barracks in Vercelli. Back at the time it was missing the turret and its configuration led to believe it was used as a turretless tractor by the germans. After that it was moved to another army barracks in Legnano, with a sheet metal, fake turret. Nowadays it's in Solbiate Olona, at Caserma "Ugo Mara", a NATO base. The turret is a new; somewhat better, steel replica, some idler wheels, the lifting jack, the antenna and the glacis lights aren't original.
Anyway, it's the only L 6 in Italy, out of 3 survivors worldwide and there aren't that many pics of it around:
