It's interesting to note that this tank (~862nd M4A3(76) built by Chrysler) still has the "T23" turret and one-piece deck behind the engine doors.

BTW, this should also have a Chrysler build number stamped on the right edge of the glacis plate, as noted in the OIF tank thread.

Don,
I'm confused by this one, dont seem to have this SN in the register. Where was/is this tank located?

Thanks,

Neil

Michel! Hi Folks!

- Tichenor

I have this one as Thunderbolt VI, Former Brooks Field.

Thunderbolt VI? Is there any information confirming that was the true TB6 or just another vehicle dressed up to honor General Abrams?

This is no way an original TB VI. It was the tank that was positioned next to the Main Post Flag Pole on Brooks Field.

The SN was previously unknown even by the musuem. That is, until I was able to squeeze into the drivers compartment and retrieve the data plate.

On a more bizarre and sad note....

The main post flag pole that was on Brooks Field for over 60+ years, has been torn down....

The REMFs have really taken over,.......
