Shocked OUTSTANDING!

I'm wondering if a person can go from 4.08 to this without updating in between???

Glad you like it. The video seems to have been released a bit earlier than Team Daidalos wanted though. They forgot to password protect or hide it until they were ready, not realizing we are a pack of hungry wolves waiting to jump on any news.

The v4.09m patch is 567mb plus 260mb for the skins patch.
If you add 400 or 500mb more with the v4.10 patch don't you think its size would be terrible to download ?

For dial up users, yes to almost impossible. Most everyone has broadband of some sort these days, so while the update process sucks, at least it's free...lol One of the biggest issues I've had with IL2 is updating has to be done in order unless there's an actual game version release such as IL2, IL2 Forgotten Battles IL2 Pacific Fighters, etc.

I know putting together the server files to version 4.08 was a real PITA and that's why I built the completed file and offered it here as a complete download which btw, still comes in at over 1.4 GB. Wink

So, if I understand you right, the upgrade process still needs to be done in steps? I.E.- 4.08, 4.09, 4.10 ?

It surprised me but I have seen some requests for the v4.09m patch to be broken down into smaller sizes from people still on dial up in the US.
Mostly in rural areas that have “fair use” limits to their internet usage.

Yes as it is now unless someone takes the time to create a complete patch for v4.08, v4.09, v4.09 skins and eventually v4.10 you have to do it in the steps you laid out.
I also have an itemized list in the download description telling you what patches you need and the order to install them to help keep it straight, hopefully.

There are v4.09 server files that need to be added to your v4.08 complete patch for it to be fully up to date now.

Why did I know you were going to tell me that?...lol

I figured the steps to upgrade hasn't changed. Still, the game is SOOOO cool, it's worth the effort... Wink

Hi Vic! Nice to hear from you again... How's thing at your end?

To tide you over till we get the go-ahead for posting the full guide here's a part of the documentation for 4.10. Just some historical notes for mission makers who want to make historical missions for the Henschel Hs 129.

The link for the pdf file is in his post at SimHQ.

hey Bushy ... not bad ... got over 1000 hrs of online IL2 this year ... you?

lol

Been getting lots of practice low level / high speed bombing on the Hyperlobby RAF_FB server in the Arado ... what a plane Smile

I have also perfected my technique in the Mustang MKIII ... quite possibly the best overall aircraft in IL2FB imho.

I hardly ever see anyone from the old schoolers on Hyperlobby anymore.

I am dissapointed by the lack of updates from team daidalos.

I miss the old timer squads and squabbles Smile

UltraPak 2.01

I haven't used Ultrapack but it is the most popular version at the moment.
HSFX is another one but it is incoporated in Ultrapack to make switching between versions easier for online play.

Before you do any modding backup your entire IL-2 folder....or you'll be sorry when it crashes.

These guides and tutorials should get you up and running with Ultrapack.

I'm new to IL-2 and interested in modding how should I proceed?: www.mission4today.com/...mp;kid=589
What files should I backup when re-installing?: www.mission4today.com/...mp;kid=563

The Beginner's Guide to SAS modding with UltraPack 2.0: www.sas1946.com/main/i...652.0.html

Some of these may be redundant but better too much than too little information in this situation.
