I seem to remember that it was found buried in the Ashdown forest in Kent in the early 1990s, possibly being part of a defensive line from WW2, but it was felt to be so far gone as to be not worth preserving at all so it has gently rusted away over the years.

It was scrapped after a year or so in Bov's "Care"!

200+ pictures from Tankfest 2014. As usual, very good quality shots from "Megashorts":

Thanks for posting the link of 2014 photos. I was there, it was a great show, but as a visitor you do not get this close so many of the photos are better than reality.

I had the chance to meet a veteran of the 11th British Armoured Division at Tankfest (in 1944 he liberated the city where I reside now), so this was really worth the trip !!

Really? I found it very boring, long-winded compared to the last years. And no special Tanks around the arena. So skipped Sunday and shot some rifles/pistols, drove a T16 on public roads and fired an old 2 pounder canon.

Was the Hetzer the real thing or a disguised Swiss G13?

Real one. Crompton Collection.

Rod Cadman told me that Bruce has got a correct gun for it, not the one that is fitted in the G-13s.

It carries an early version "topfblende" and the gun looks like a KwK 39. They are both strong signs it's an original Hetzer.

All the photos were taken from public areas Smile I get no special access as I'm just a private visitor Smile Pick your place 20 minutes before the display starts and you have a clear view of the action. Think about where the sun is and which way the wind is blowing Smile
